passo a apsso 1

BOOK ONE

PAGE ONE (Four panels)

[ONE]
Splash panel.
A young WOMAN – age nineteen or twenty – is down on her knees with her face pressed to the floor. It is a standard execution position. She is blubbering and looks completely terrified. AINSLEY is holding a gun – a P99 with silencer – toward the back of the woman’s head. The angle is slightly off-center, so that the shot will enter the back-right and exit the front-left at the eye. Her face is a mask. She looks a soldier who is simply doing what needs to be done. Ruthless, but necessary. Ainsley is the center of focus of the scene.

The room they are in is a standard basement. A furnace might be visible in the background, as well as a stairway heading up. There is a drain on the floor as well. It’s a typical space slab space without much else of interest, except maybe an occasional box as the space is used for storage. The woman’s purse is off to the side, its contents spilling out onto the floor. The location isn’t particularly relevant. The figures are central to the scene.

Woman: I’ll do anything you want. Please, just-
AINSLEY : You’re certain?
Son (VO): Yes.

[Two]
Run panels two and three side-by-side.
Tight view of the woman with her face pressed to the ground. She’s practically kissing the cement as she speaks. The gun is still in position.
Woman: -let me go.

[Three]
Similar to three, but the shot has been fired. It exits the front-left of her face having blown out the eye. There is an appropriate level of blood, and the Woman’s face is now against the cement. She is pretty much DOA.

[Four]
A full-body view of the Woman. Her position didn’t change much, other than to shift forward as her body went slack. AINSLEY is crouched down, gun in one hand, and checking the Woman’s pulse at her neck in the other. Ainsley is just being thorough. She’s very clinical about what she is doing.
Son (VO): Better now than after she bloomed.
